My self and Kim left Koh Phi Phi on the 24th and arrived in Krabi town that afternoon. We had read and also heard from other travelers, that Railey was the place the best plce for backpackers in Krabi.
We hopped on a shabby bus - which we were surprised got us to the long tail boats! The long tail boat consisted of mouldy white seats, broken wooden boards beneath the windows and a rusty old wheel and gearstick!
The longtail boat was pretty slow but we arived and went in search of cheap accomodation. up towards the jungle and cliffs, our highland resort bungalow sat. Really spacious and clean for 6 pound a night. Although the shower felt like ice!!!!
We were starving so dumped our bags and headed for food. The first place we found was closed so we headed towards the beach front and ate in the first place we came across - Yaya's - it was an overpriced small portioned meal served by moody staff.... we were unimpressed to say the least. After gruel we headed to the west beach. Another gorgeous sandy beach - just missing the blue skies. At one end of the beach was rocks and a rope which you had to use to climb to the other beach, at the other end of Railey. Suddenly the heavens opened, on went on Kim's rain mac, but i got wet through. That even we spend time at a Bar called Stone Bar, which was a really cool chilled out spot!
During the first night kim got woken up by voices and jungle noises and completely freacked out, as if the Blair Witch and come for us!.... I was not to impressed at 4 in the morning.....
On are second day in Railey we had more rain, so had to spend the best part of the morning chilling out in are bungalow. Once the rain had stopeed we headed to the beach and the "cock" cave. The cave was a shine to an indian princess, who had died in a storm... Thia men now bring wooden "cock" to her shine.
Today we have headed back to Krabi to get the night bus and boat to Koh Samui.. where we will spend a few days before heading to Koh Phangan...
