We left Margaret River and headed for Walpole c. v. park, it was right on the river. Set up and then went for a drive into town, on the way back we checked out sandy beach. Got back to the van and decided to do some fishing but as usual just fed them. Saw heaps of wild kangaroo paws in the bush.
3 12 2013 Set out this morning heading for the Valey of the Giants through a canopy of thick tall trees. The Tingle trees are huge and so tall they live for 400 years and can reach a hight of 75 mtrs. They don,t have a tap root they have a shallow root system that spreads as they grow older causing the trees to buttress, this gives them stability and they can get more moisture. They have built a tree top walk it is 600 mtrs long it goes from 9 mtrs to 40 mtrs in hight and it sways in the wind. It was quite scary but i was determned to do it, we also had a guide who explained about the trees. Next we went to green pool it was a pretty aqua green but very cold we didn,t stay long and there were people swimming. We met up with Joy and Luke and the kids again in Denmark and had lunch in a park on the river. Headed for Albany big 4 at Middleton beach and checked in. Went for a drive we watched with surprise as big dump trucks were unloading woodchip they drove onto a platfofm then they were raised to an angle of 45 degrees to empty out. We went through town then went out to Emu point, we also walked on the beach just near our van.
