This morning we drove down to Augusta at the bottom of Australia , our first stop was the lookout with beautiful sweeping views . Next we went to Cape Leeuwin light house, it was opened in 1898 and has been fully autimated since 1996. It is the place where the Indian Ocean and the Southern Ocean meet. We were given a recorder which gave us the history of the lighthouse as we walked around it was very interesting. We drove down to the water wheel it was built in 1895 to supply water to the light house. The ruggered beauty of the rocky coastline never ceases to amaze me.We found a picnic table on a small bay where we had lunch. We are headed home via the scenic rout through huge karri trees and black boys, we called in to Hamelin Bay it was another pretty spot, there was the remains of a jetty built in the1800 which was used to bring cargo in and out. Back to van and baked a cake.
