Zvi Josef's Travels
We had a great day in Jaipur today, despite the 38 degrees blistering heat.
We booked a driver for 6 hours and he took us everywhere, which was great, as our hotel was pretty far from all the attractions.
We started with the wonderful Jantar Mantar, which is a gigantic observatory (which I first saw in "The Amazing Race"). A lot of locals were excited to getting a photo with us, which is always funny to us. :)
We then went al the way up the mountain to Amber Fort, which had some spectacular views. We then went to another fort, from which we could see the Great Indian Wall - not has huge as the Chinese one, but still - very impressive.
We then stopped to look at the amazing "Palace on the water", which is a palace built inside a lake and when the lake floods, the palace looks as if it's afloat.
We then passed by the now rennovated (and not THAT impressive, I must add) - Hawa Mahal, which is an array of hundreds of ornate windows and ended up in a local museum, which was rather boring, but the building itself was very nice.
We closed our day in the town's main bazzar and went behind some of the shops with our driver, to see how all the nice stones are cut into little statues and jewels.
Now we're lounging in the hotel - feeding like mad, in 30 minutes we're off to get a massage and later on - dinner.
