Today was all about touring the famous monuments of New Delhi and getting to the city's famous old part. We started the day off at Purqnq Qila, then visited the impressive Humayun's tomb and then took a train drive to old part of town, where we visited the largest mosque in India, walked the amazingly narrow streets of Chandi Chowk and finished the day at thw beautiful Red Fort. After a good night sleep and a nice breakfast, we went to tour the new part of New Delhi - mainly in the parliament and government buildings, which were huge and nicely built, the presidential palace and its beautiful gardens and then walked all the way to India gate, which is a huge and beautiful monument. 2 minutes after we got there, the guard evacuated everyone from the site. After a rather slow check out from our hotel in Chandigarh, we were offered a complimentary ride to the airport in the hotel's BMW, so we did not say no. :) We arrived to the airport early and had a very short flight to New Delhi, where the hotel;s car awaited us. We checked in the hotel, had a couple of drinks and took the hotel car to Qutb Minar, where we experienced an AMAZING thunderstorm and rain.
