Shaun on the Road
I just flew over Mexico city yesterday, and I have never seen anything like it. I looked out both windows of the plane and could not see either end of the city. Massive. It also happened to be Mexican Independence last night, so half of the city was shut down, cabs were not running into the centre, and the train was not running to half of the stops either. Nuts. Spent two and a half hours trying to figure out what to do and where to go. Ended up meeting 2 Brits, 2 Aussies, and a German in the airport in the same situation. We ended up staying in the same hotel together and hanging out a little the next day. This also marks the first day that I am sharing a bed with a total stranger (well, come to think of it that is not true, but fine anyway). I am heading to meet some people in Acapulco tomorrow, and am planning on staying there for about two and a half months to work on my spanish.
