Shaun on the Road
Well, unfoturnaly my Mexican adventure did not last as long as I was hoping that it would. I am sorry to all of my new Mexican friends, but Acapulco is not the place for me. It doesn't help that I have been sick 4 times in the past 4 weeks. My advice, don't eat everything that is put in front of you. I think that they should change the name of Acapulco to Montezuma.
Today I am going to Quito, Ecuador to take formal Spanish classes. I am quite looking forward to this. There is too much English here to pick up Spanish just by listening. I need to go and get some serious lesson.
Mexico was not all bad, though. I made some good friends and saw some cool sights. The harbour and the city at night are amazing. The beach is great to jog on, and there are some cool parks as well. Saw some real soccer, and I learned how to cross the street all over again (it turns out that pedestrians have absolutely no rights in Latin America).
My final adventure here in Mexico was the cab ride from the bus station to the airport. Wow. It was 5 am and there was no traffic. I looked over the driver's shoulder at one point and saw him doing 120 km/h. This is on a steet that had a limit of no more that 70. There are some bumps in the road too, and I think I may have hit my head a few times. Kinda scarry, but very fun.
