Shane and Sarah's Adventures
¡Hola! ¿Que tal?
This is our second to last day in the fantastic BA. Brilliant city and it is hard to now move on but we are now looking forward to exploring more of Argentina.
BA has to be one of, if not the cheapest places we have visited, ever. Perhaps only Thailand could match the cheap prices. I'm talking 60 US cents for a 1 lite bottle of beer, good wine for US 1 dollar, great coffee in a restaurant for US 80 cents, a big dinner for around US 3 to 4 dollars, a 2 litre bottle of water for US 40 cents.......... the list goes on! Brilliant! But on the down side it isn't helping the waist line! BA has been added to our list of places that we could easily live in for a period.
For the last week we have been staying in our own apartment in a funky part of the city called Retiro. Its been great having our own space for a while and we have even managed to cook a few of our own meals. After 2 weeks of Spanish lessons we are now more competent (and confident) in conversing and can even now take part in a stuttering conversation!
Tomorrow we are off (on a 17 hour bus trip) to visit the famous Iguacu Falls. Will probably stay a few days and then return to BA before hopping on another bus (for 18 hours this time) heading south to Puerto Madryn, the base for visiting the Peninsula de Valdes, famous for whale watching and spotting other ocean dwelling beasts.
Its hard work being a traveller!
Trust all are well.
Love Shane and Sarah
