Shane and Sarah's Adventures
Hola Amigos and Familia,
So far we are having a brilliant time in Buenos Aires. It is a beautiful city filled with incredible architecture, pretty streets, bustling crowds, fabulously cheap food and alcohol and the people seem pretty friendly too.
We are staying with a host family up near Plaza del Congreso in the Monstserrat district which is very close to the school where we are studying Spanish. They are lovely and we are seeming to get by with their little English and our really bad Spanish!
We are doing loads of walking up and down 18 de Mayo and through the bustling microcentre and exploring the many districts that make up BA.
On Saturday we visited Cementario de la Ricoleta with some other students from our school. The marble sarcophagi and statues here were huge and made for good photography..also being cloudy and wet gave an odd appeal to be walking around a cemetry.
Sunday we visited an area called San Telmo where they have alot of antique shops and on a sunday a market that goes right through the main street. It had a great vibe as so many people were out and about walking through the markets, having lunch, watching the tango dancers and other people performing in the street.
We have just had our second Spanish lesson and are both feeling pretty shattered from it all. Being a full time traveller is hard going......
Lots of love
Sarah and Shane xx
