Hola Todos,

Well we left Costa Rica without any problems and have been in Nicaragua now for 5 days.

Our first destination here was Lake Nicaragua where we stayed for 2 nights on Isla de Ometepe which contains 2 volcanos, one of which is still live and has visible steam coming from its top. We stayed in a very pretty part of the island called Chaca Verde where our cabin was set right on the water and we were treated to a bunch of Howler monkeys in the surrounding trees. It was a beautiful spot to just chill out in and take in our surroundings.

Next we headed to Granada (where we still are I might add) which is a pretty town set on Lake Nicaragua with another volcano within close proximity. Its a great place for strolling around, taking photos of the colourful buildings and people watching. Yesterday we took a bus to a town called Catarina. We were treated to an amazing view from the towns mirador of Laguna Apoyo, Volcano Mombacho and in the distance lake Nicaragua and Granada.Today we headed out to Laguna Apoyo to chill on the craters edge and relax in the beautiful surroundings.

Tomorrow we leave Granada and head for the city of Leon where we plan to spend a few days exploring before we head to the next country on our list - Honduras!
