So we got the ferry up to Wellington and had a last catch up with Maria & Chris and family. Was nice to be back in a real bed with a real shower!!!
In the morning we checked on the Weta Cave, where they design and create movie props, the ones we got up close and personal with were from LOTRs, mainly Golum!!! Was a bit freaky how good they looked!
From there we headed up to Sanson to catch up with the Deane NZ family!!!We had a lovely BBQ and were again lucky enough to get a bed and shower...thanks Daniel!!!
We then made our way north, for Shane to have a last fish, before hitting the Coromandel Peninsula...here is where we saw our first bit of rain!! The locals were very happy with this as they had been doing rain dances for weeks to try to end the drought!!!...For us it meant slightly less sightseeing than normal!! But we did still manage to see Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. The cove was really nice to see and the Hot Water Beach is just mad!!! 2 hours either side of low tide you can dig a hole and soak in it as the water is so warm!!! Shane was a bit sceptical beforehand, stating it should probably be called warm water beach, but having burnt his foot in one pool I think we can safely say that it really is Hot Water Beach and Shane is a believer!!!
From there it was onwards to our last night in the camper, then we cleaned her out and handed her back just in time for Paddy's in Auckland.
We were having a few cheap drinks in the hostel room when the place started to shake...once we were sure that it wasn't the drink having an effect on us, we realised that we had probably just been in an earthquake!!!! (Which was confirmed by google the next day, as a 3.9 on the Richter scale!!!) We then hit Father Teds and the Munster Inn for a few that night, with the sky tower lit up green for Paddys.
The last few days in Auckland were a bit overcast so we spent our time researching the upcoming Oz Adventure and strolling around town. - As well as enjoying the fact we could shower in real showers, stand up in our room and walk around it!!! All in all a nice relaxing way to end our brilliant time in NZ.

Mez Extremely jealous of your NZ visitations. Loving LOTR :-) Sounds like you're having an amazing time Manchester has the biggest st paddy's day celebration in europe apparently- There was a massive parade with floats from all the county's! I missed it though but will see it next year!
TIM Wilkinson I looked at the pics first and couldn't work out what Shane was doing. Amazing difference in Wi Fi between SA and NZ I wonder how OZ will be. Take care LOL XXX
