The next day involved checking out the very blue Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki, which are an amazing blue because of the glacier sediment in them. In Lake Tekapo we went up to the top of Mount Johns observatory to get a great overview of the area. In between visiting the 2 lakes there was a bit of fishing for Shane and walking for Phil around Lake Alexandrina. At Lake Pukaki there is a stunning view across the water of Mount Cook. We were lucky to get a nice clear day so we could see it in all its glory!
The next day we were heading down south to Queenstown, the adventure capital.....and also the place where you could easily spend all your savings!!! For instance the bungy was 180 euro, so lucky for Pearl, Shane could not afford to throw himself off a bridge on this occasion!!!...Phil was never going to so not an issue for her!!! Instead we had to settle for walking around Lake Hayes (and fishing for Shane), the botanical gardens and having the legendary Fergburger!!! For those who have been here, enough said, for those yet to come it is probably the best burger we have ever had....see pictures for size and deliciousness.. Shane went for the Tropical Swine and Phil picked Little Lamby....ah so good......we then discovered some free wifi and that's how most of the pictures have gone up on the blog!!!
