Kia Ora from New Zealand!!

We arrived in New Zealand on 5th March and have stayed in Auckland for 2 nights at the city YHA Hostel which is pretty close to everything. On our first day we just had a stroll around Queen Street to familiarize ourselves and went for a good meal in the Brooklyn Bar.

Our second day was quite an adventure... We decided to take advantage of the free orientation tour around the city on the 'Stray Bus' (a company that does bus tours round NZ) to see the sights. We had been on the bus about 20 mins when the tour guide asked us all to pick a number between 1-40, Niki's was the closest and the next thing she knew she was throwing herself off the sky tower (192ft drop NZ's highest base jump!!) She loved every second of it and has the pictures to proove it! A great way to start our adventures in NZ! Afterwards we went for lunch and a pint in the pub and saw a few more sights like the nudist beach and mission bay/ the harbour etc.

Just as we thought we'd had enough excitement for the day, our tour guide did another competition and you can guess it... Sarah's number came up and was told she'd be doing a bungy jump off the Auckland Harbour bridge! (It was something I wanted to avoid, it was very scary but worth it- the worst bit was jumping, the hanging around was easy- wait till you see the hilarious DVD!!)

Yes we feel very brave and we can't wait to do our sky dives now- Bring it on!! It will be a breeze!!

So next were heading North to see the Bay of Islands for a couple of days then heading back to Auckland to start our Stray Bus Touring ( then maybe we will have to think about getting work (booo).
