We drove down to Wellington after missing our chance to do the Tongariro crossing at the national park- we were really dissapointed as the weather was really bad and nooone was allowed up there.

We got there in time for Thumper to drive us up Mt Victoria which had some beautiful views. Thumper organised a silly hat party that night with a prize for the best and worst. We made good use of toilet roll, bread buns, belts, playing cards and surgical gloves- bet your intrigued!... NIki won and got a free drink- a Jager bomb, then got more merry with a lethal birthday cocktail after midnight!

Then next day we were nursing hangovers so in our time we looked round the Te Papa Museum and went on the Wellington Cable car. We also looked around the art gallery and did some shopping. Very Cultural. We celebrated Nikis birthday with a slap up Pie n Mash at Irish pub. (classy birds!) Then went for a night out down Courtney Place till stupid o'Clock!~Yet again more hangovers and shopping the next day.

Wellington is cool- lots of arty cafes, boutiques and cool shops. We left Wellinhgton on Sunday and caught the ferry to Picton in the south Island ready for work in the vineyards. No sweetcorn this time thank god!!
