Day 4 of our Trekking is supposed to be the heaviest. Checking our map we see that the expected walking time is one of around 8 hours, carrying our backpacks all along. After the mentioned night of heavy storm and rain and our tents and sleeping bags being clompletely soaked, it is very hard to leave the warm and cosy refugio Cuernos, back into another rainy day. But of course there is no way out but the long one. We as such start hiking around 10h15 with a bag heavier than ever due to the wet camping gear. We can do this!
Without too many breaks but in a very slow pace again, we reach the free camping site around 17h00. Some of our fellow hikers have reached the camp more than an hour earlier, but are now freezing cold and trying everything to stay warm. Not a bad thing we hiked a bit more slowly in the end!
A very nice parkranger allows some of us to dry our sleeping bag in his little hut so we can at least keep a bit warm the upcoming night. Some instant soup and noodles are once again our meal to get through the night.
