Cairns is a city in the garden. This is the quote i saw on the billboard during the journey to Atherton where it has the popular crystal caves and i thought it was just perfect to describe Cairns therefore the reason i decided to use this as the beginning of this blog! We hired the car once again to go on a mini road trip in Cairns...We decided to go to kuranda rainforest first as it was only around 20 minutes drive away from Cairns, we passed all these wonderful landscape views of the mountains, however it was also a bit daunting as i felt a bit sick after the route we took was all bends turning left and right! Finally we arrived at the kuranda rainforest, we managed to secure an parking space thankfully as it looked pretty full and we had a look around the shops which was a bit weird with all these bamboo wood style roof and the shops looked like a collection of huts like the ones in brighton! After a hour or so, we were aware that the time-keeping was vital to us as it seemed like we didnt have a lot of time to squeeze everything one one day but we decided that there was no harm in trying! On the walk back to the car, we saw an isolated airplane on display camflounged in the forest, we was amazed to see that the airplane was still in a good condition after years of being lost. It reminded me of the 'lost' TV series where the people get stuck in the island and the scenery of the forest is really similar to it. I saw a crocodile sleeping peacefully by the river, of course there were fences around it but it was big enough for it to feel as if it was in the nature settings. Eventually we departed for our next stop which was Atherton. Luckily we already packed our lunch before we left saving us money, we stopped around halfway to Atherton to eat it as we were hungry! The journey took around a hour and additional time for stopping by to eat our lunch, we arrived at the crystal caves as we wanted to visit the apparently famous caves in Cairns.....how glad we were when we discovered how beautiful crystals can be! there was so many colours to see and the feel of it is completely different everytime. I was miles away dreaming all sorts of things by simply looking the slow motion of crystals going in circles, i havent felt so much peace in my life, i just relaxed and took in these purple coloured crystals letting my mind wander. After a session of exploring different parts of our minds, we came back to the reality and i decided to buy a crystal for myself to keep in case if there is something i need to take my mind off or just rest, i will look at the crystal and remember how i enjoyed my travelling experience. We went to the magificiant waterfall in Malanda, around a half hour drive away from Atherton. It was great to visit as i didnt imagine it would be on my list for the duration of my travels including visiting the crystal caves but i am glad i did as it was a change of scenery! I took this lovely picture of charlene kissing the car as she enjoyed driving it in a different country besides United Kingdom , i liked the picture so much i decided to use it on my blog :) We went back to Cairns after around 45 minutes in the waterfall, i was really tired that day so i fell asleep until Asher nudged me gently and told me that we arrived in Cairns. We had something to eat which was in nandos! what a great ending to a perfect day!
