Arrived in Kunming at 7:15 this morning desperate for the loo and to brush my teeth as the train had run out of water at midnight! Got a taxi to the hostel and spent half an hour going around in circles as he couldn't work out how to get to it! In the end we parked and he walked me there! Had a shower and breakfast in the hostel - a cheese omlette and toast with butter and jam - South China is great!! Then I went off to explore the city, walking around the Flower and Bird Market which sold absolutely everything and then ending up in Green Lake Park. It was a lovely day and although not quite as warm as I expected, I was comfortable in a t-shirt and jumper. It was nice not to have to put on the coat. Spent the evening in the hostel planning the next few days over a beer.
