Had a chance for a sleep in this morning. Only woke up when the bell for the school that's right outside our window went off. Our shuttle should be picking us up at nine twenty so plenty of time for a laze.
We waited down in the lobby for the shuttle to arrive. When it was ten minutes late we called the company and asked where they were. Fifteen minutes away we were told. Good thing Jill aranged for them to come early or we might have been late for our flight.
Of course we still might be. Athens is still on strike and the metro is not working so the roads are packed. The driver ended up being half an hour late and it took us ages to get to the airport.
And to top it all off when we finally did arrive the plane was delated. Over two hours we waited. Good thing I finally bought a book to read but a really bad day to skip breakfast.
We finally arrived in Rome and was met by a Cosmos representitive. I found him to be quite rude. He didn't greet us or welcome us to Rome or anything. He just flagged down the shuttle and put us on it. The driver was a lot more polite.
We checked into our hotel which appears very nice. However it's pretty expensive. You have to pay to use the pool and the internet is really expensive.
We met our tour group tonight and again we appear to be the youngest people on the tour. There is another young couple but they appear to be married. Still everyone seems really nice. The trip should be fun. We signed up to do all the optional excursions cause we can't come to Rome and not do as much as we possibly can.
After dinner we wandered the streets outside the hotel for a while. The place is still pretty busy, even at this time of night. It seems like a really nice city, but from what I've seen, Athens is still my favourite site. Of course I shouldn't judge, we've only been here a few hours.
