After breakfast we took the boat back into the city of Venice. The first thing we did was take a gondola ride. We had a bottle of champagne to share between four and all the views of Venice. It was brilliant. We took some of the back canals and got a whole different view of the city. Then we went to a demonstration at a glass factory. All hand blown glass. He whipped up this beautiful vase in a minute flat. I had a look around the place for something to take home but there was nothing for me and everything was horrendously expensive.

After that we had some free time which Vic, Daniel and I used to do a tour of the island. We did a big circuit around the islands, going through back streets and residential areas. It was fantastic. Around three we stopped for a cocktail on a sidewalk cafe and rested for a bit. We got a bit lost for a while but were able to follow the signs back to St Marks Square in time to have a gelato before meeting the rest of the group for the trip home. I got to do a bit of shopping and I have some beautiful pictures so I consider it a pretty successful day. A couple of the group got lost on the way back but they just got a water taxi back to the hotel. Dinner was just an included dinner at the hotel and the food was average. But it was absolutely fantastic with the company and the wine. We had drinks outside after dinner and that was brilliant too.
