Hi again from Paraty - the hottest sweatiest place ever known to man!! (well ever known to me but i may change my mind about that after visiting bangkok!) We are staying in a little guest house here, have a nice room to ourselves which is good but it is soooooooooooooooooo hot! added to the hotness is the fact that we have to barricade ourselves in at night so we dont get bitten as anyone who has seen me with bites knows that I do bites in a fairly spectacular way! Think we are getting slightly obsessed as we have bug spray for our bodies, one for the room and a plug in bug repellent - all in all they would have to be pretty brave to get us now! We managed to get our guest house in proper random traveller fashion by meeting a french girl in the last hostel ( woo hoo my french finally came in handy as she didnt speak english!!) she told us she was off to Paraty the next day so she booked us something and she met us when we arrived - was very handy!! She is staying with a man who runs one of the boat tours so he was the one that got us our guest house and he took us out last night to see the night sights of Paraty which was good especially as he seems to know the whole town. Paraty is lovely, its a little colonial town with the most gorgeous little shops. It is so relaxed after Rio as well so we are spending most of the time feeling like we need a nap! We are planning to go on a boat trip as well as go off to see waterfalls and the gold trail. We considered getting bikes until everyone pretty much told us we would die in the heat! Planning to stay til Sunday as they have a Carnimar on Sat night which is basically a Carnival on water where they decorate the boats and aparently people cover themselves in mud and run through the streets- sounds like a must see!! Think we are then braving the sights of Sao Paulo for one night - wish us luck!! Right off to the beach - ha ha!!! Sarah
