We headed into Monterey to have a look around to see if there was any whale trips on offer, we had been told this area was great this time of year as all different whales feed on this coast whilst migrating from Mexico to Alaska in the spring! We booked on an afternoon trip which had previous days sightings and reviews were good, so we set out on the boat it was average size but the skipper was a marine biologist so he gave great talks whilst searching the ocean for whales and other sea mammals! We were very lucky to spot over 10 humpback whales, Californian sea lions, harbour seals, porpoise and sea otters it was a great trip lasted approx 3 hours! We walked around Monterey after the boat trip it was a quaint place with lovely shops, restaurants and some really posh hotels! We headed back to the RV for our first quiet night since the trip started and realised it had been our first alcohol free day too!
