We had an early start packing up the RV & hitting the road we needed to get closer to LA ready to drop the camper off in the morning. We drove up the coastal road & stopped off at Oceanside for lunch! It was a cool surfing town seemed laid back with a great beach & bars! It was a pretty relaxed drive until we got closer to LA where the roads got more complicated & busy! We stopped at Huntington Beach & had a few hours on the beach! There was a National volley ball competition starting so the beach was buzzing... it was busy & had a big surfing vibe all new bars & restaurants quite exclusive & was just how I expected Californian beach's to be! The RV spot we were meant to be staying in looked run down & was next to a big industrial power plant at the edge of town we decided it wasn't for us & drove down to Newport instead we found a great site on the bay with a marina, huge pool & hot tub... we were lucky they had an evening reservation. We had a few beers next to the bay watching sunset then went in the jacuzzi. We ended up chatting to some teenagers who were celebrating their prom weekend they were lovely & gave us an insight into Californian family life & they were blown away listening to our adventures.
