So as promised our driver was there for us, 1:30am and drove us all the way to mount Batur. Which is an active volcano in Bali.
Started walking up around 4am, and it was pitch black. Head torch came in very handy.
The hike up was so hard, loads of the volcano rocks scattered everywhere. The last part was so steep too. But my god, reaching the top and watching the sun rise around us made it 100% worth it. Was breathtaking views of the lake, other mountains and land far below us. Now climbing a Volcano had never been on my bucket list, but it sure hell should have been. One of my favourite moments so far.
The walk down was even harder, lots of slipping and falls. Our driver then drove us to our next stop, Ubud. We arrived around 10am and luckily our room was ready so we could drop our stuff off. So tempting to nap, but not wanting to waste any time we headed back out. Looked around the streets. Really loving Ubud, perfect balance between culture and tourists, best shopping I've seen yet in Bali, and so many cute places for food and drink. Even went to a Starbucks.
Had a few hours round the pool and then went out for dinner. Went to a very cute restaurant, had great atmosphere and we had a table where we had to sit on the floor. Was very cool. So tired though so we have headed back to the hotel to get a good nights sleep.
