We arrived in Exmouth early, so Darren took us for a drift snorkel at Turquoise bay in Cape Range National Park. A drift snorkel is basically when you get in the water at one point then let the current take you over the reef. We saw a black tipped reef shark and I saw a small sting ray. Again this wasn't part of the tour itinerary so it was wicked to get the opportunity to do it. We had decided to 'Jump off' at Exmouth, so we had 3 days here until the next bus was coming to the town. So that evening we went out for dinner and drinks with Darren and the gang to say goodbye, as they were all carrying on all the way to Perth. The following day we got up late, we weren't really sure what to do with ourselves at first (we missed the gang a bit). So we went for a walk around Exmouth to see what delights it had in store for us, and like a lot of the towns we've visited so far, you can walk round them in about 10minutes, so that was that.... We did find a crazy golf place so we decided that we would go and have a game one day, we also decided to hire a car for the day. So we booked our car in for 2 days time then went back to the hostel, we spent the rest of the day sunbathing by the pool. The next day we played crazy golf! I won of course (all those lessons my dad gave me when I was younger, on how to hold the 'putter' obviously paid off), but Sarah came a close second! Ha ha ha!Day 3 we had a little car for the day so we went back to the Cape National Park, to do some more snorkelling and walking. We started the day off with a walk in 'Yardie Creek Gorge' it was quite easy finding you're way around the trail, thankfully. We then to Sandy bay - which was beautiful crystal clear water - however it was bloody freezing water! We also did some more snorkelling at Oyster Stacks and Lakeside, but we didn't see any sharks or rays. We have now become snorkel snobs and aren't satisfied with just seeing fish and the reef; we want to see big sharks! Later on in the day we did see a ray but it was from above the water rather than in it. The following morning we jumped back on the easy rider bus for a short trip to 'Coral Bay' we jumped back off here.
