We take turns to pick where we are going and staying and this time it was Taylor's choice and he picked well! We stayed at Moov Inn hostel close to the pier in Koh Tao. This place was so lovely! It was a tree house type hostel with roof top views of the bay. What made it even better was that they had an adorable one month old puppy <3
This however made it difficult to leave the hostel as Taylor had to have at least 10 minutes of cuddles every time he saw it!
Instead of diving we went snorkelling with a guy from the hostel. Bike rental was £3 so it felt like the best idea. We found some lovely places to snorkel the first being San Daneng. I suggested that we take our water shoes incase there were rocks but Taylor decided against it. Once we got to the sea he wished he'd listened. We both ended up with scrapes and cuts from banging into the coral. I also might have grabbed him every time I wanted to steady myself and pushed him into the coral more - oops! The fish were really cool! We saw banner fish, barracudas, these tropical rainbow fish called Parrot fish and a plenty others. We were looking for sharks but couldn't find any. After climbing up the rocks to see the view we headed back across the rocks avoiding the hundreds of crabs to get back to our bikes.
We ate at Nanas restaurant literally every single day! It was cheap and was sooo gooood. Pad Phed (Red Curry) was still the go to choice. After deciding that sharing a snorkel wasn't as fun, Taylor bought his own and we went to the next beach. Of course by the time we arrived I had lost my own snorkel - yay me. Taylor went to find it on the bike but it was no luck - back to sharing a snorkel then hahaa
We snorkelled for a while trying to find sharks until a storm came over. The wind picked up, the sky turned dark and it was definitely time to head back to the shore. We swam through the rain and safely got back and just chilled in the shallow until it stopped. We headed back for cuddles with the puppy.
That night we gathered a squad and headed to the £4 all you can eat pizza place. When we found this place we were weary of what all you can eat would mean in Thailand.. we thought perhaps all you can eat when they bring you the pizza every half hour? No! We ate pizza straight for 45 minutes no exaggeration. Every time the last slice was lifted from the plate a new pizza was put into it place. All different kinds and no holding back with the pizza. They even bought out chocolate and banana pizza for us. We had a half an hour break and then the pizza came rolling back out. Definitely worth it if you're feeling a break from rice and noodles.
The next night the hostel put on a BBQ for £2. BBQ chicken, pork (not for mee) mash potato and noodle salad - sooooo good!! One of the big hostel dogs kept coming up to me pulling sad eyes and poking me with its paw :| I gave it all my bones. Taylor gave it pork aha We had a few drinks and I went to bed. Taylor went out with some of the guys to the town. When he got back he was telling me how some Thai guys were on his bike when he got back and he had to push them off and drive off hahaha no idea what they were trying to do! He got stopped on the way back back down backpackers asking for him to take a photo of him. He said people kept jumping in the photo so he got off the bike and took a selfie with them all.
Koh Tao was so beautiful and we really didn't want to leave. Especially leave the puppy! I reckon Taylor shed a few tears hahaha
