We got scammed on our journey to Krabi! After the night boat we were hurried into the back of a pick up truck and taken to an office. The "nice" lady suggested we paid 300 baht to get a lift in the minivan to our hostel instead of being dropped off at the bus station. "Sure that a great idea!"
A tuk tuk picked us up and took us to the next office where the lady had no idea why we were there. I rang the "nice" lady she said a taxi will get us from the bus station. When we arrived in Krabi we didn't even get dropped off at the bus station and there was no taxi!! Silly cow. Luckily the hostel was a 10 minute walk away so we saved what we had left and walked.
Our room was interesting. It didn't have a working lock so we had to padlock the door shut. The room was painted black with a few beach painting hung in the wall. The lady was really nice though.
Krabi was really quiet - it's more of a crossover town to other places. We rented a bike and drove to a white temple and then to AoNang. The sea is so beautiful there and we walked through the low tide to another island. I started to get stung by jelly fish larvae (they sting so much!) so sat on the sand for a little but Taylor swam out to another island! He came back hurting haha he blames me for them stinging him as he says he didn't notice them before hahaa. I've also realised that there were crabs everywhere - hence the name Krabi.
In the evening we went to climb tiger temple, 1300 steps! We wanted to make it up for sunset so quickened our pace. It was sooo hard and the steps got higher and steeper! The monkeys threw rocks at us from the trees - I still don't like those things! I held on to Taylor when they were around. After about half an hour we made it to the top. By that time we were sooo gross. We'd drank two bottles of water and our clothes were wet. Despite the rankness, sunset was finishing but the sky was so beautiful and we could see the whole of Krabi and the mountains in the background. It was so peaceful and calming up there. Going down for me was a lot easier! These Spanish girls and a Thai man lit our way with torches and we made it down without be attacked by the monkeys. Our before and after picture of the climb is hilarious.
We woke up early the next morning and booked a ferry to Koh Phi Phi. A short but nice stay in Krabi.
Update: Still not found my toasties however I am getting better at playing pool! Woo!
