Where do I start with Borneo?
Maybe the amazing food!?
Sarawak Laksa is the one!! So delicous. We had chicken, rice, icecreams (Taylor ended up with Durian flavour so not a great experience for him), hot tea, pizza (oops), bamboo chicken - all sorts of tasty food!
Animals?
ORANGUTANS!! We were so lucky to have seen 4 orangutans in the jungle. The ranger kept telling us that it was rare to see them this time of year as it was fruting season in the jungle. In the distance we see treas moving and along comes a mother and its baby -so cute!! after a little while another mum comes along and this time baby cartwheels along the ropes - so funny!
We went to see the probscious monkeys that have funny long noses. Weird monkeys! Also went to a few caves and i hated the bats everywhere, not cool at all!!
Instead of hostels we decided to stay in national parks and explore them that way. We stay for a few nights at one national park and went along the trails in the jungle. At night we sat on the beach and watched the crabs creating detailed designs by throwing their waste sand away after eating. We managed to get a few cool photos of the crabs.
The next national park we stayed at was Niah caves. This cave was huge! We watched thousands of bats leave the cave at dusk but it wasn't as exciting as we thought it would be as they came out in rows haha
The next day we went into the cave and explored the areas. They found a 400000year old burial ground in these caves and lots of pots and things. Really interesting.
We were heading to Brunei but its a lot more expensive and Sharia Law is putting us off abit - maybe next time?
Instead we are off to Sabah to go and relax on the beach!
Pray for good weather <3
