Day 24
Horrors - woke up with a big snork! Me lying on my back snoring! Fortunately no complaints of snoring in the night so I got away with it :)
Still a bit sad walking through these little half dead villages - see photo - signs of wealth up to 50 yrs ago - now agriculture is mechanized - only the elderly left and the Camino cafes and Albergues. Similar in NZ on the Cycle Trails?
So what is it about the Camino? Everyone seems to be in good humour - positive with each other - wishing each other Buen Camino - maybe it is because the task for each day is so simple - especially now that it is the fit and strong left walking - many drop off early on. Those left walking now know not to push their limits.
The fit and strong, and me - will get a taxi the first 12kms and meet Jeff at Reliegos for lunch then walk 6kms to Mansilla de las Mulas :) Mind boggles how that name came around? Huge city walls surrounded by a moat - Roman remains 24BC close by.
Enjoyed cafe lunch with Jeff and his walking mates - then it was head down striding into a rain storm for 6kms. But welcomed by wonderful hospitaleros to Albergue Gaia, so snug and warm and happy. Hey yogi friends - I have done some stretches!
Double happy as have just organized a taxi 18kms into Leon 20Euro (NZ$32) so no walking tomorrow - yeh!

sallygrimmett Hi all - Caro I am being honest - I only shared this blog site with a few close friends who might be interested in my wingeing
Jane F Really - that's explains why there's not more comments! Lots of people might love watching your progress :-) And stories that are 'real' are a lot more interesting than the 'glossy' versions!
sallygrimmett Thanks Jane - i get a few more comments via email too
