Slept 7 hrs! Ate so much ham/processed meats yesterday I didn't have to pee - hmm not sure that's healthy but lying here happily at 5am checking emails etc.
Now walking through little villages that look a bit dilapidated actually - the church at Ages ( A-Hess by the way) had storks nests above the bells. Think the Camino is keeping the place alive.
Passed through Atapuerca where they found traces of Neanderthal - so Archeological research is keeping that village going. Then trudged up this rocky track (plsd I wear boots) and looked out over Burgos and the Meseta plains that we have cross for the next 10-12 days.
Did I mention the wind? Bitter cold 30km winds blasting away like sandpaper. From then on had to walk along a sealed country road then trudge round an airport before I could catch a bus. So all in all 14kms!
Bliss - ended up in Church (new) Albergue looked after by a Carmelite nun in civvies - Jeff and I in a room on our own - joy o joy!
