Day 29
Conquered 16kms yesterday but had to walk 15kms again today - want to stay in a donativo tonight where the hospitaleros volunteer their time and frown on mortals who get the bus/taxi/bags carried. Jeff already arrived - sounds wonderful - the priest greeted him with a glass of wine, and shared their lunch with him! I am 2 hrs behind walking my own pace - experienced a happy feeling when I was walking through these daisies - see photo :)
4kms to go so sitting in a bar with old geezers playing cards yabbering in Spanish and eating my ensalada mixta - have sprinkled my cheese over it - got conned into buying some classy cheese at the market in Leon - 8 Euro 250gms - heavier than my poles weigh so eating my way through it.
Have chucked some old polyprops away and my pack now weighs 4km (incl the cheese). But I look a wreck :) same clothes everyday with hat hairdo.
Oh- visited the stunning Palacio Episcopal by Gaudi - love it!
