Lauren turned 30 on Tuesday, 30 July. It was her Golden Birthday, the one she had been waiting for since Mitchell and Peter celebrated their Golden Birthday when they turned 8 on 8 January, 1994!
We celebrated her special birthday by going to dinner with Lauren and Tony at a wonderful restaurant with a Michelin star rating, right in the heart of London. Such exquisite food - not to mention the company!
We also celebrated her birthday at her party on Saturday night at the Truscott Arms pub, in their special function room. It was great to finally meet so many of their friends. It was a really terrific gathering!
On Sunday, we set off on our drive around the UK. First stop - just for a look - was Cambridge. Mmmmmm... Well, we drove in, had coffee, and drove out!
Next stop, to stay overnight, was York. What a find! It was absolutely beautiful. So historic. We climbed Clifford's Castle and walked to the famous Minster. We also climbed and walked around the city wall built by the Romans! So much to see! We decided we MUST return in the future.
Today we drove from York to Newcastle upon Tyne. The drive was a little stressful because it was raining heavily, but once we checked into our hotel - right on the river Tyne - we relaxed for a while before heading out to dinner at The Slug and Lettuce pub.
Tomorrow we're driving to Whitley Bay, which is on the coast just east of Newcastle. We've been told that the Northumberland coast is beautiful.
Another great day to look forward to!

Love to Everyone!!!!
