Today we traveled into Belgium to go to yet another track. We went via the Rheinfels Castle. It is the ruins of a castle built in 1245. It was only conquered once – by Napoléon and he had it blown up in 1796 to prevent it becoming a threat again.
Stan made friends with all of the locals, Dave was put into the stocks and we all had trouble getting down the steep steps. The view from the top was awesome. It was easy to see how the pirates controlled the river. From Rheinfels it was possible to see both the Katz and the Maus Castle. The poor traders in their ships!!
From there we went to Spa…..Another track in the middle of nowhere…almost like Monza… except this time we had transport and arrived on a day that tours were being run and cars were practicing.
Mmmmm – the guys were excited anyway...According to Dave, Spa is THE best Formula 1 Track.
