Today we visited the Van Gogh Museum. I loved the way it followed the story of his life. A very enjoyable way to spend a morning in Amsterdam. From there we wandered back towards the main canal and train station to the flower markets. We were too late to see the early morning display of flowers on sale, but the amount of bulbs available was amazing enough - as was all the grow your own substances. Today was a quite day. We visited Anne Frank's house. It was soooo crowded - but it was so good to see how small it was and how it has been preserved. Stan realised all of his respectable clothing was in the laundry and would not be available till the next day, so went spent a few hours doing some shopping.Mum and Dave were still out by the time we decided on dinner, so we went to the pizza restaurant owned by our B&B hosts. Today was the last day of having the car. The trip from Bruges to Amsterdam was about 3 hours so we arrived in time for a late lunch at Café Kalkhoven. The café was about a 10 minute walk from the B&B and served the best cheeseburgers I have tasted. Before we got to the accommodation, we all praised Europcar and were soo grateful we booked our car with them as they drove us from their depot to the hotel. We thought Bruges roads were scary but Amsterdam took it...
