Hey!! Sorry it's been a while since we updated this!
So I think the last time was with the happy news of wedding bells and all sorts and we'd been to Malaysia and Bali :)
So Cambodia was very interesting - the day we landed there were protests in Phnom Penh, people got shot was a bit of a hoohah! So we couldn't really see see the city much - for fear of getting caught. We stayed for three days and managed to get a bus down to siem reap. We stayed slightly out of the city - in case the riots started there too! But we got to see Angkor wat which was very crowded and touristy - despite the rain and getting there early! And if I'm honest overrated! There were too many people there and it cost us $21 EACH to get in. Seriously??? We did however manage to get to ta prohm (which is the awesome tree temple seen in tomb raider ;) ) which was much less busy and simply breath taking. It didn't really compare to sukothai in northern Thailand which is very impressive.
Having taken in the sights we decided to try and get a flight out - and the land crossing between Cambodia and Thailand is notorious for bent police officers and having to bribe the immigration and bus drivers in order to get across or risk being left at the crossing! Plus with all the civil unrest etc we were advised to try air. However....... There are only a few operators who fly cam-thai and they are extortionate! One of the most expensive flights routes in the world apparently - and the Cambodian government owns one of the airlines (which we had the unfortunate luck to experience!). It is thought the Cambodian government keeps the roads to land boarder purposefully bad (even for Asian standards :p) and doesn't chastise the security/police etc so that people are forced to spend and fly. Soooooo we flew. On the cheapest airline....... Cambodian Angkor air. We had a ridiculously small and old plane to take us there. The worst flight either of us have ever had and practically crash landed off the runway. Not cool!!! But we arrived safely with only a few grey hairs due to stress ;)
We headed to phuket in southern Thailand where we had been before and enjoyed :)
Having moved around every few days for nearly five months we decided to try and find a place to settle for a month or so. Whilst we searched for somewhere with a gym - we were seriously out of shape ;) - we stayed in a place called club one seven which is a gay friendly hotel. It was fantastic!! The staff were all completely camp and lovvvvved eddy (especially in the gym hehehehe!) And were so lovely and friendly for the sake of being lovely :) we were going to stay there for the month but the rooms were a bit damp and dark and smelly for a month!! Plus we found a wonderful place down the road where we've been since the 28th :D
When we first got here there was heavy rain for around a week and we got a leak in our room so we got upgraded to the apartment on the top floor for the rest of our stay! Yayyyy!! The gym is fab! We have a balcony where we van hang our washing and it's huuuuge! :D lovely.
So we've done some muay Thai training, been to the cinema (for £1.80!!!), and worked out. A lot! We're hoping to do a massage course. And of course planning our trip to America!!! We are going earlier now, leaving Asia on 19th Nov now. Heading down the west coast from San Fran to LA to San Diego down the coastline then up again to San Fran via national parks. Then VEEEEEEGGAAASSSSSS then the south east cost, possibly Florida etc then Niagara for Christmas and Boston and new York for new years. Don't know if I said before but we're meeting aunty cookie out in Iceland :D
All very exciting!!! We both are very much looking forward to America and are trying to set itineraries for our trip so we miss anything!!!
Just under three months left now!! Missing everyone a lot! Love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Maggi Wow, what an amazing adventure, I love hearing about what you have been doing and where you have been. The flight from Cambodia sounds dreadful!! But, at least now you are in a civilised area and will be until the end of your travels. Don't forget to let me know the moment you get to the US. Stay safe, and enjoy every moment xxx
Maggi I think it's time for an update - please :) xxx
