Hi again!
So it turns out we both got dengue fever aka breakbone fever! We were pretty ill but we're both fine now and all recovered! Phew! Turns out where we were helping out in the school in Kalasin - it's an endemic there :S its actually very low risk in touristy areas, and unfortunately we were the only farang in the city - pretty big place with university etc but we were the only whities there! We got used to everyone staring ;)
We stayed at a lovely hotel where we were able to get food easily until we were all better :)
Now we are in pattaya! The city of sin! You order a takeaway and they give you a flyer for ordering late night ladyboys ;)
We have had some very good food in pattaya! Well... As good as western food gets in asia ;) we even had a steak... That was perfection!!! And 595 baht which is about 12£!! But it was a fillet and huuuuuuge :D we thought we deserved some good grub after being so poorly ;) there's actually pizza places and macdonals! That is the beauty of staying in touristy areas :D and of course... No dengue ;)
We have been going to the gym every day and are getting really fit! Hoping to get dit enough to do a muay Thai camp when we come back to Thailand in October.
The weather has been lush! The rainy season is over Wahoooooo!! Sunshine!!
We're going to Bangkok in a few days for my birthday :D we have a lot planned! There's a cinema that has sofas and a button for the waitress to come over and serve you! And a spa and cream tea and a famous Indian restaurant! We're going all out as we've spent the past four months scrimping! :D
Can't wait to update you on it all! We're missing home and family and friends but still enjoying ourselves :) can't wait for Bali to see some of the family!!!!!!!! Will be amazing :) only 8 days to go!
So four months in and we've done a great deal and seen and been and all sorts! And the thing that stands out the most for us is the wonderful people we've met along the way :) they have made the trip so special for us. Especially the locals! Like the hotel owners who get to know you and sit with you for hours talking! The waiters in restaurants who ask if they can practice their English as they're studying. The shopkeepers or cafe owners. Generally getting to know people when you stay somewhere for a while. There are some really beautiful people in the world :)
Thanks for following our trip with us :) love to you all xxxxxxxx

Jonny Bravo Sounding awesome :)
Leanne Love reading your blogs, sounds like you are having such an amazing time!! :) glad your both better! You have to stand at the beginning of the film in the cinema to honour the king and watch a short video about him...have fun with that :) Enjoy Bali!! Can't wait to hear all about it!! Xx
Maggi So glad you are both better now, it must have been horrible to both be sick at the same time :( Your travels sound wonderful, and what memories you will have for life, it's so good to see how others live, and you have been mostly outside the tourist areas. You will love the cinema! there is one in LA when Jo and Steph have just been, they have leather sofa's and its complete luxury, and you order dinner while watching the movie, but hey! thought that was just laa laa land haha. You are too young to remember, but we too used to have to stand up in the cinema at the beginning of the film(s) (we used to have two films not just one!!) whilst God Save The Queen was played. Ususally by the orchestra at the front of the cinema....boy have things changed lol. You couldn't even see most of the film, for the fog of all the smokers!! everyone smoked back then.. You will fall in love with Bali - one of my most favourite places, 2nd to Ceylon (don't think its called Ceylon anymore) the South Pacific is magic. True magic :) Have fin in Bangkok for your birthday, and hopefully you will give us another update once you leave, to tell us all about it. Keep well......and hopefully see you in LA in December xxxx
samtayloru It is bad to hear about your illness but the overall post is interesting. Thailand is a great place for fun and enjoyment. I enjoyed it while reading very much. Hope to get some more fun when I visit there. :) villas in costa brava
