Hi again!
We are now in Kuala Lumpur having had an amazing time in Bali! It was so wonderful to see the family :) made us a bit homesick but was a lovely break. Bali is beautiful but not sure I'd go back there. Very much like the rest of Asia in terms of natural beauty and activities, however because it is very touristy much of the culture has been lost and the locals are no longer interested in anything other than money. Also, the high terrorism threat is evident as there is a lot of security, police check points etc. I think we all agreed we wouldn't return! Although, we only saw a small part of the island the experience put us off.
Kuala Lumpur is lovely yet again! Staying in a gorgeous hotel for next to nothing as it's only six days old!!! Food is amazing, lots to do and everyone speaks English! Hurray! Saw the patronas towers, park, etc. Eddy got locked in the gym last night (Hehehe!) And the hotel were so apologetic (what with it being new) that they gave us a fruit basket and comolimentary lunch and dinner!! Lunch was bruchetta, mushroom soup, massive sirloin steak, and brownie and ice cream and earl grey!! Completely blown away what a wonderful hotel! We also arrived at about 3am as out flight was badly delayed and found roses and fruit and all sorts in our room as we arrived! Wonderful!
So the hotel for my birthday was just breathtaking! Hua Chang. I'll try and upload photos for those who don't have Facebook. The room was pink aaaagh! And had a massive bathtub with rose petals in. It was the most amazing room!!
After we checked in the day before my bday, we went for a lovely lunch at sizzlers and then a swim in the beautiful pool! It had private little waterfalls with jacuzzi jets for two :D
The bath was hot with rose petals and half a bottle of Johnsons baby bath ;) it was here that Eddy asked me to marry him (in German hehe!!) And of course I said yes!!
We went out for a wonderful Indian on the top floor of the Rembrandt overlooking the Bangkok skyline.
The next day we woke up and had birthday breakfast (which was definitely 5*!!) And we went to a live game called 'escape' where you have to solve a murder by finding out clues etc in these rooms! It was soooooo awesome!! Then we went to the peninsula on the river for cream tea!! Eddy had a big fat burger ;) and then we went back for a lovely bath again and swim before ordering in pizza :D
The next day we went to the VIP cinema! We got a sofa that reclines and cakes and tea and even a massage! We watched the conjuring with the cinema pretty much to ourselves! It was the best!! We were sad to leave that hotel but we were looking forward to going to the next place :)
We left for Singapore and arrived very late in Chinatown. We ended up paying 60£ for a cupboard room with no window and two tiny broken bunk beds!! It said it came with breakfast but it was just toast and jam! Can't believe how expensive Singapore was! Even food was dear! More so than London. Crazy. But very nice :) if I had a bit of dollar I'd definitely go back!!!
Malaysia was lush! Cheap but modern. The people are friendly but keep themselves to themselves. It's still SE Asia but the Indian influence is very apparent which is great! Lots of curries :D we really like it and will definitely be coming back.
Then the we went to Bali!!! It was so awesome to see the family we're so glad!! Thank you for sharing your holiday with us :D we had such a laugh and ate great food in great company. Just like being back in Shadwell drive but we missed nannysnoos a lot!!!!
So we're back in KL and off to Cambodia tomorrow. There's a lot going on in Cambodia politically protests etc so we're in Phnom Penh for 3-4 days and Siem Reap for 1-2 days then we're outta there! We're also very aware of the whole Syria crisis as people ask us where we're from etc and do a cross with their arms like x factor saying 'england say no Syria'. No idea if they are pleased that UK isn't joining in or unhappy. Who knows?? But the FCO is warning there may be animosity towards westerns re Syria so we'll keep on our toes ;)
So we are engaged and very happy! We're planning on 25th March wedding ceremony with close friends and family, as that's the day we met and 29th reception as it's a Saturday so people don't have to take time off work etc. So keep the 29th free people!!!
Thanks for following our journey with us :) love to you all xxxxxxx
