Then we where off to the Mekong Delta with hangovers. This is the region with all the Rivers, rice paddies, fruit orchards and farming. We travelled by small boat on the Mekong river and did a home stay with a traditional Vietnamese family. They cook local food for you and you spend the evening with them. Their English is limited though we had a fella that spoke very well and we had a wicked time. The next day we spent the day traveling around the Mekong stopping off on all the small islands and meeting the local people, watched them making coconut toffee, rice paper and wine. They then brought out a snake they caught in the river for everyone to hold.
