Ross and Gabs Travels
19th August
After a strong tailwind and then being buffeted from one
side to the other we travelled 500kms today and are at a free camp
60kms from Port Augusta SA. The countryside we drove through today is
very flat, with little or no vegetation to speak of, in most places
which accounts for the strong winds. On the way here we saw many of the
bike riders participating in the Black Dog Ride. The Black Dog Ride to
the Red Centre 2015 is in the fifth year of it's epic 3,500km ride to
raise awareness of depression and suicide prevention across Australia
right through to the red heart of the nation. For 7 days, hundreds of
Black Dog Riders from all corners of the country hit the highways of
Australia and head to the Red Centre, starting conversations around
depression and suicide prevention everywhere they ride. In 2015 from
15th to 22nd August, proceeds from funds raised during the Black Dog
Ride to the Red Centre will support Lifeline Australia’s Online Crisis
