Ross and Gabs Travels
We left home on Wednesday 25th at about 11.30am, after an uneventful trip along The Kidman Way we arrived in Griffith about 4pm. The weather is very cold and wet so we were thankful to have some tea and climb into bed to watch a bit of television. I am always amazed at how well we sleep in the caravan. Ross' cold is no better. We had planned to move on the next day Thursday but after looking at a brochure we got from reception and realising we had a few things to get at the shops we decided to stay on another day.
Thursday
There is a Harvey Norman shop next door and we needed a memory card for the new video camera we got with Frequent Flyer points. Then we saw the Leagues Club and had some lunch. Over the road from the club was a big Target and that was calling me, so over we went. We got no touring done today so decided to stay another day.
Friday
We went to the Griffith Pioneer Park Museum. There were over 40 buildings to look at. You could walk inside and get a feel for what it was actually like. What a wonderful place showing the history of the early pioneers as well as the lives of the Italian migrants that settled here pre World War 11. They had it very hard, but apparently it was a lot better than in Italy at that time. We spent most of the day there. Lots of old machinery for Ross to look at and old farm houses and shops for me. I would recommend this to anyone to see if they come up this way. We came back to the van then, as we were waiting for the WiFi to be connected. It took 28hrs for Testra to connect us with a pre paid mobile WiFi we had bought in Shepparton. As you can see we are finally connected!!
We will be on our way north to Cobar tomorrow. As you can see our trip is very laid back, so far. If it interests us we will stay a few days if not we will move on.
