So... how to make this interesting... I'm not sure there's been sufficient activity this week to justify a blog, but i'll give it a go...
Days start about 9 or 10 am with the habitual complaining about how hot it is already...
Showers 5 - 10 minutes... sunscreen application another 10 - 15 minutes... at this point rachel is agitated that i'm still not ready to leave the room, while i am simply stood in a puddle of my own sweat, wishing we could be in china again, even if just for a few minutes!
Breakfast is a variation on muesli, fruit and yoghurt with fruit juice shakes, scrambled eggs or the cornerstone of every heart breakfast... a banana pancake! (I'm not sure i'm really getting my 5 a day in, but out of desperation i've started counting beer and water as 2 of them!)
After breakie the tough choices start... which tree do we sit under and should we go in the gorgeous blue water for a bit...???
If all this sounds pretty exciting, then it really hots up about 2pm when we're getting peckish... there are 2 places to choose from to eat and they're both about the same distance (30 feet) from where we're sitting... some days we have to call meetings and take minutes to come to a decision. I suggested to rach that we should put first things first and start with the end in mind, but she just told me to f*ck off!
Lunch is then followed by between 4 and 6 hours of doing absolutely nothing before retiring at sunset for a cold shower and our now habitual hour or two in bed... watching Prison Break on DVD!!! To be honst, most of our days are currently spent with half a thought on what is going to happen in the next episode and whether or not you could feasibly hide all that digging from the prison officers... I hope steve checks behind the sinks in Newark prison, is all i can say...
Evenings are a leisurely mix of beer, water, beer, food, more food and more beer before retiring to our bungalow at the top of the hill only when it is cool enough for us to not expire on entry to the room! Of course, it matters not how cool it is because the walk up the hill leaves me standing yet again in a pool of my own sweat wishing for a light shower or fltter of snow...
We're moving on from Bamboo Bay tomorrow to a smaller, quieter island in Koh Mook... yesterday we saw about 15 people... it's just too much!
