RolPol
Up at 5am! Ready for the day! Quick coffee and breakky at the old Michelin Tyre building (good experience minus the black pudding which Pol had on her plate and did not realise).
Today we were collecting the vehicle that is going to transport us all around Europe; BMW GS700.
First stop; motorcycle shop to buy last minute items for trip (chain lube, jacket, extra luggage etc). From there we grabbed a quick bite at Selfiridges (MASSIVE food hall. Hard to choose what to eat!). We managed to grab a take away lunch and sat in a park in Mayfair - The sun was out and so was everybody else, it was hard to find a spot on the grass to park our behinds!
Next Ros began to experience slight (in my opinion; high) levels of anxiety as it came closer to the time to pick up the bike we bought 2 months ago. We couldn't believe it was finally happening!
Those high levels of anxiety in Ros turned to extremely high levels filling in the handover paperwork (Refer to sweat patch pic) while Pol remained cool, calm, collected and did some extra shopping for bike gear while we waited.
Time to ride off. We thanked Charlotte from BMW Parklane (who was fab. Thank you Charlotte for your help with this!) and were on our way.
Change of plans - new rider appointed as Ros was clearly not in a fit state to ride). Pol safely transported us through busy London traffic and Hyde Park Corner (intimidatingly large, non laned, busy round about) back to Chelsea where we had to lock the bike with 2 pad locks (on front and rear tyres) as motorbike theft, as we were told, is 'rife' in London (we wondered why insurance was so expensive!). Apparently there is a black market for new motorbikes too.
Dinner time. For dinner we travelled to Edgware Rd (popular for Middle Eastern Food and shops) with Ros's dad, brother and a couple of friends.
Early to bed!
