On the way out to find breakky (Hotel breakky was too expensive at this hotel!!)…



…we spot a horse…and a goat just by the parkside!


We finally found the café after Pol missed it (as she was navigating)…lucky Ros is good at navigating!!

And guess what we find…


…a very smoochy cat! Ros was pleased!


…this is what Pol saw when she went to the bathroom!!

While Pol was in the bathroom – Ros wondered if everything was ok with her as it took a while for Pol to emerge!...

Pol couldn’t wait to show Ros what she encountered….




This cat loves to drink the water!!

The waitress said this cat has been with them in the café for 5 years and has a problem with excessive water drinking…so she lures people into the bathroom and jumps onto the sink while the person is washing their hands…and gets smoochy…then drinks the water if you turn the tap on!!!!!




And guess what we saw on the way back from breakky?!....

…a cat in the field! The horse startled the cat..Ros saw the cat jump!!


Ros…trying desperately to find last minute accommodation in Bruges…Ros had a shortlist of different hotels to show Pol (after an hour searching), then after choosing one and about to book realised that she had entered the wrong date! She then went back to change the dates and no accommodation showed up for Bruges or anywhere near Bruges!


…still trying to search for a hotel to stay in…no luck in Bruges..it’s all booked out!!


Finally. On the road to…Gent…now to watch out for…(in this order) – pedestrians, cyclists, scooter riders, cars, trams and then what’s happening at the intersection! It’s absolute chaos and a lot of lines on the road…tram lines…!!!




Very confusing in some intersection – this one was an easy one! Plus we’re driving on the other side of the road than what we’re used to!!



Onto the motorways…except in Amsterdam there are a ton of speed cameras…and some funky bridges that lift to let tall boats/ships through!!! (Thus the boom gates)

So many cars backed up…in the opposite direction… this queue went for miles!!...this is what happens when they close one lane off!!!!


Oh no….we fear a traffic jam is imminent!!!

After lunch we walked 100 metres to the petrol station to get a bottle of water (cheaper than the hotel) and Pol wanted some Belgian chocolate! Nice little walk after lunch...

Then we headed back to the hotel, and with not much to do when staying on a motorway we watched a couple of movies and chilled. Apart from an early evening walk back to the petrol station to use up the rest of our Euro change.

Ros had been doing pretty much all the accommodation bookings, and as we found it really hard to find accommodation in Belgium (we had wanted to stay in Bruges - no accommodation in or even nearby!), Pol took over and had a look. She found this hotel which didn't tell her it was on the motorway and the pictures on the net were airbrushed!!! Ros said Pol isn't in charge of booking more hotels.... then she realised it was our last night so no more hotels required!
