We’re ready to head to Slovakia!

…and shortly after setting off…we’re in SLOVAKIA!!


..time to buy a motorway card….only to find out…it’s free in Slovakia to travel on all roads on a motorbike! First time for us!

Lunch stop – Pol had an unknown liquid on her helmet (not water)….yet to figure it out

Ready to go again–


Pol cools herself by wetting her shirt – so Ros decided to try it!!

…and now for the country side of things…







The houses were so colourful – and very well painted - this pic doesn't really show the colour...Pol took a lot more pics....but they were mostly blurry for some reason!!

…parked and hungry…where to eat!!?...


...why somewhere traditional...of course! Ros is on a try all country's cuisine tour as well as a motorbike tour - Lucky...because Pol gets to taste Ros's choices too!!

Ros had a quick look on Bookings.com before we got here but didn't book anything to see if there was other accommodation...this town is so small and the WIFI connection was really bad at the restaurant that we walked over to this little accommodation and booked a room - we could hardly understand what the lady at the accommodation was saying. Her English wasn't as good as her Russian...and Pol was finding it hard to understand her Russian!!

Quick unpack and regroup later...

…and out into the little town…


Ros – enquiring about castle tours…it is now around 520pm…

No English tours…a Slovakian tour beginning in 10 mins…otherwise people can’t go through the castle without a guide…


…so to the Slovakian tour….we couldn’t unduerstand a thing. We wondered around at the back of the group, but luckily they had some blurbs around the place written in English.

(little blurry…sorry) this is the knights room – women were not allowed to sit at this table. Around this room are bedrooms…the story goes that when the knights got drunk after a long night…servants would lift them up while they were still in their chairs and dump them into their bed!




…tour over…we didn’t understand anything…lucky there were info displays.

Due to our late lunch we wanted dinner late, and this place shut at 8.


We found one place open still for dinner. It has pizza and a few other things. Pol had salad (consisting of tin tuna, tin corn, tin olives) and Ros had some chicken.
Oravsky Podzomok goes to sleep very early!
