After a big buffet hotel breakky….
we had a quick walk around Baden and found…fresh berries from the local market!
….then back on the road…to…..Vienna!!!
Wien – Pol figured out Wein is Vienna after a couple of signs!!
…half hour later…we’re in….VIENNA!
…then we get stuck in this…!!
…so we have time for more selfies!
…check out the traffic lights and street lights suspended up high!!
We’ve arrived – after one slight GPS user glitch…with one way streets…we got there!!
This is what happens when we arrive at accommodation – our luggage!!!
…we got a 10Euro upgrade to a bigger room that we could check into earlier than usual! So much space!
A little rest…and we’re on our way into the centre of Vienna…
Metro…
…passengers must open the doors themselves…no buttons to push!
Cathedral in town
Vienna is a beautiful city, amazing architecture and also jam packed with people!
Lunch time…we couldn’t read this menu..it was all in German!!
This restaurant we found by walking up laneways and quiet streets - it was not very touristy. The waiter did not speak much English either...and the seating looked like it had not been reupholstered for a while - it had a nice old style feel to it.
Pol ordered…salad…and Ros a traditional Weiner meal – the food was amazing..although very salty.
Back out on the streets to find one of those tourist bicycle tour things…
…found one!
Pics from the tour:
…pigeon netting! – they still manage to **** on statues!
…on the way the tour guide showed us a good cheesecake shop….so we went to find it…
And first found a Scotch and Soda shop along the way Ros found a funky top at…
We had a slight shock when the bill arrived for the cake. We also ordered 2 waters with it. The cake... 5 euros. The waters were 12!!! So it was 17 euros. Lesson learnt!
Back to the subway to find our hotel…
There is a huge TV screen for commuters waiting for the metro!!
...on our way out again…just around the corner from the hotel…
This building is fully netted to deter birds!
Polynuclear region!
….we found an amusement park!
…first ride…a rollercoaster – going up!!!
…then….an indoor..dark and scary… rollercoaster!!
“**** happens!!”
Ros won? Just as the game timed out pol scored! Pol thought we were even!! But the scoreboard said otherwise...
…..2 rides later…
Ros felt very motion sick. The rides went upside down and around. Ros screamed and thought she could taste blood in her throat when she got off. Pol wet herself laughing on the ride at Ros. Check out Ros's sweat...
Pol managed to eat some dinner (yes you guessed it... a salad). Ros had to sit in the hotel lobby with an apple and drink...
