Day 11
Our train was delayed by two hours and once we had arrived in Jaisalmer, yet again our taxi wasn't there to pick us up. We caught an Auto-Ricksahw to our hotel. The owners of the hotel seemed quite friendly but it's bit skanky.
We went for a wonder around town, which is situated inside the Fort. It's definitely the nicest place we've been so far. The people seem much friendlier, less starey starey and cleaner. All the shops inside the Fort are in the fronts of peoples homes, they all sell the same things. I bought hat and Emma says I look like my Dad and that my ears stick out- real charmer! We had a lovely dinner and the best so far and I keep on being told I have a good personality!
Day 12 & 13
An early start for us getting up at ten, to be picked up by Krishna Tours at 12. It took us an hour to get to Krishna Resort, which is situated in the middle of the desert. It's a lovely little place with six round white huts, which have been painted on by the women of the village. We then walked around the village and we could have bought more textiles from the local shop. The houses are very basic and the walls are made of cow poo, sand and water.
Really good food (lots of potato's). We met the rest of our group, they're all really nice and we headed out into the desert on our camels. Emma found this really scary, especially when the camel stood up. It was really good fun with beautiful scenery and we waited until the sun set before heading back to camp. Very good food again and I ate loads. We spent most the evening chatting with our new friends, whilst listening to a traditional Rajasthani music performance.
We got up at half past five to go for another camel trek, back into the desert. It was pitch black and our only guide were the stars, we managed to see the sunrise, although it was slightly overcast.
The rest of the day was spent walking around Jaisalmer, avoiding cows (after both being head butted) and motorcycles, this was more difficult than it sounds.
