Day 15
Took a taxi to the bus station. Our first experience on a bus oh my God! It actually turned out to be really good, despite the irratic and dangerous bus driving, i slept the whole way. Rog met a man called Oliver from Germany, very chatty, and gave Rog some of his street food which made him very happy- surprise!! Only one break during the 8 hour journey, for a luxurious wee break in a square little room, with no hole or drain in sight- lovely!
Once in Udaipur, and after alot of haggling with a rickshaw driver we made it to our hotel. The rickshaw driver wasnt happy when we payed him less, however he did drop us at the bottom of a massive hill because his Tuk Tuk couldn't carry us up.
Day 16
Breakfast in a German bakery, yum! We went to the city palace which turned out to be quite nice, although i lost my mobile phone! We walked up to Sunset view point, this took a good 2 hours, alhough well worth it as the view was amazing! I had street food for the first time- delicious! This is definately the cleanest and nicest place we've been so far!
Day 17
Having eventually found the guest house staff playing cricket outback, we checked out to spend another day in Udaipur, walking around town.
We went for a walk hoping to end up at Monsoon palace, but were defeated early on as it seemed a right mission, we ended up in Sanjays Gardens, an Indian water park but with no water!
On the way back into town a puppy followed us the whole way, Emma got scared and couldn't get away from it, so we caught a rickshaw for a quick getaway, altouhgh the puppy chased us in the rickshaw trying to keep up! Spent the rest of the day in the rainbow cafe, which overlooked the Hotel palace in the middle of the lake!
A long journey ahead of us to Goa, a 2 day trip! Brilliant!
