Day 1- Chaos, cow's and crazy driving!
Our first day was an experience we won't ever forget. After getting to our Hostel by Taxi and Rickshaw, up the main Bazaar we spent the whole morning and afternoon sleeping, due to no sleep on the plane.
Our Hostel was very basic but we felt safe enough. We eventually started our day with Dinner, in the 'lovely' Diamond cafe, recommended by our suspicious friend Raj. Rog stuffed his face, and I picked cautiously, in fear of Delhi Belly!
The main bazaar was hectic, and with many Touts and Vendors trying to pull us into their shops (very draining), we bought some clothes, cheap!! There seems to be cow's everywhere, and people drive where ever they like and constantly beeping! Very Scary!
Day 2 - Delhi Tours!
Still holding onto Roger for dear life, we ventured out to Connaught Place to buy our tickets to Varanassi. Yet again good old Raj appeared (I'm still suspicious, rog thinks he's brilliant!) to guide us to Delhi tourism. This however turned out to be Delhi Tours, and we ended up with a 20 day tour around India for a bargain of.... 600 pound! Delhi tours (Imran, the clever salesman) provided us with a free car to Lodi gardens. This was a nice getaway from the rest of Delhi! Went to a really nice restaurant, yum curry!
Day 3 - City Tour!
Imran kindly gave us a complimentary tour around Delhi in one of his cars! This was probably the best way to see Delhi and all it's Monuments. First off we went to Jama Masjid (the biggest Mosque in India), Red Fort, Raj Ghat, Lotus Temple and India gate. It was brilliant to see, and we very tired at the end of the day!
Day 4 - Tickets!
Mostly spent around Connaught place waiting for Imran to give us our tickets for our train to Varanassi. Luckliy Imran came up trumps and we got our tickets!! yay! Rog well impressed as he did his first crouching poo!! nice!
Tain station was very intimidating everyone was staring at us!! Found our beds well enough, and met a nice man called Brasad, a pastor from South India. I slept amazingly, Rog struggled and got about two hours! Nice to be out of Delhi!
