Rod in Arabia & England
It's raining!!!. The sky for the last week has been gray and cloudy. Last night was incredibly humid and it started raining just after dark. The air is cool and crisp like summer rain in Australia.
For anyone from Britain heading here....you know who you are.....sorry but the weather is English. But I expect it won't last.
The flooding in Jeddah was tragic so I hope the rain is not so heavy here.
Anyway just a quick note because I never thought I would feel rain until my midyear leave to England.

Katharine Simson Dear Rod, Don't worry, it has not stopped raining here for ages! You will be sick of it, and yearn for sun! I did not realise that Jedda had been flooded, I am so sorry. We are so wrapped up with the astonishing floods in Cockermouth (Cumbria), the force of water has washed away bridges etc. and they are really very cut off, that Jedda has not really impressed itself on our journalists! On a happier note, both Pippi and Anouk are very well. I have been entrusted with Anouk while Pippi has gone to London for the week, as you know, and I am enjoying her company very much! We have just been for an extremely rainy walk, and the thing that completely impresses me is that I just dry her with towels, and in two seconds her coat is as dry as it was before we went out! She is a very sweet little dog, and SO well behaved! We are going to lunch with Prilla tomorrow, and will meet her dogs, who are half collie and half labrador. Lots of love, and roll on mid-year leave! Katharine
John Thanks for the update - I remember that view - sans black sky - from your room so well. I see the new ed is STILL not progressing. Jeddah floods didn't rate a mention here either, but I'm going to look it up - might just take an inet subs to Arab News - what do you reckon! LOL
Ronda It's been very hot here. Dad's garden has died - AGAIN - . We are looking for some of that rain from Jeddah - not all of it. Hope you get a little bit there in Dammam. We are both well and will try to get you on Skype. Love Mum
Trudy Thanks for the updates, I really look forward to them. You have the best vantage point for taking photo's of that place and it does still appear to be one brick at a time with the ED department. It's a bit unfortunate that you will never get to see it finished while you are there. However, the rain must be a welcoming sight and I am glad that you were there to witness the event. Keep that Aussie flag flying high.
Kellie Ohhhhh raid who would have thought it was possible. We had snow all around us over the weekend, however it missed us here in the valley. I can however look out my window and see it all over the mountains. Wishing you all the best for the season of joy ~ Love kellie & Steve.
