Do not ever go to Disneyland between Christmas & New Year. It was unbelievably crowded. We did 3 rides in California Adventure & none in Disneyland. We left LA about 8am for the drive to Carlsbad where Legoland is. It is not far out of San Diego & took just under 2hrs to get there. There is a Legoland Hotel right next to the park so we had a look in their lobby before going into the park. Legoland is definitely aimed at kids so the rides were mostly pretty tame.
