Blimey!
Home sweet home!
Well we hit NYC with a bang 2 nights ago and wow, was it a bang! Following our nice rest in the peaceful city of Montreal we got back into NYC’s Penn station about 8.30pm and were back at the apartment for about 8.45. A quick shave and a shower and we were on our way out for about 9.30. . . Awesome!
We started out by sort of gate crashing somebody’s birthday party! Well I say sort of, as it was a bar and she was the lead singer of the band that was playing! So we had a few pints of Guinness to get us started for the evening’s events and listened to the music for a while before heading off to a small Jazz bar! Followed by a trip to Tribe, however it wasn’t so good, so we left there and tried a bar / club where we got ripped off a little as the doorman tried to charge us $10 each to get in, then reduced it to $5 plus a free drink, why not we thought, so headed in and to the bar. I ordered some drinks and was then asked to pay?!? But the doorman said. . . Sorry he is wrong, I was told. . . Not my problem, I said! Look, he got it wrong, he said, I reiterated that it wasn’t my fault. . . Anyway, I paid for the drinks and we got a couple of free vodkas. By this point we had realized that the place was actually crap, so we left shortly after and went for some food at a Mexican place. It was like a Mexican takeaway place! We sat at the bar and had a beer, ate a Burrito and chatted to the barmaid and her mate. . . .
Her mate (who turned out to be a bit of a weirdo) then took us to a bar (or Cave – It was in some dungeon). But we had a good time in there as we met some other people, a cool girl from London and her friend from NYC. We had a laugh and a dance with them. Finally got back to apartment in the early hours, but continued to listen to music and dance around the apartment. . .
I think I went to bed about 6am. . . hmmmm nice?! Needless to say, I woke up after midday, Doh!
So that was our first night back in the city. . . Great!
We did however venture out into SoHo and had some nice food at a regular South American place ‘Colonial Café’. Very nice food. . . !
We then did a bit of shopping and got in touch with Brian & Lucy, who were over from the UK for a week. . . . .
So, learning from our adventures the previous night, we thought we would take it steady on Friday night! Hmmmm yeah right!
We did actually start the evening steadily. . . . We arranged to meet Brian and Lucy at our favorite music bar ‘Rockwood Musichall’.

We got there about an hour or so before they arrived and we listened to 3 sets of music.
8:00 pm
9:00 pm
10:00 pm
Was great to catch up with Brian and Lucy and show them a different side of NYC, however we didn’t chat much as we were listening to the music. We then ventured off to meet Marcus and some of his friends, 2 beautiful tall blonde girls . . . Ashley and Silvia. . . hmmm!
We had a few drinks, then ended up in a club, where we could show off our dancing skills (Oh yes, you know my dancing skills – Yeah Baby!). Well after a while Ashley and Silvia had to shoot off as Ashley had had an allergic reaction to something (Not me – If that’s what you’re thinking?).
So, we left and put them in a taxi and went to get some food, forgot to eat earlier (Sorry mum). So, crepes were the desired shoffage and may I add they were absolutely marvelous! We then continued the evening chatting to loads of people, half of which I cannot remember! I did however remember snogging a lesbian. Well it is the season of good will and all. . . . ? Eventually got home and crashed and woke at 1.30pm the next day. . . . Blimey. . . That’s Thursday and Friday done. . . . What will Sat and Sun bring?
